| Job Description | Specific Responsibilities
Responsible for performance or supervision of new product development. Specifically:
Conceptual design, detail models and drawings, calculations and theoretical analysis, product structure definition (bills of materials).
Test design, test execution, and test reporting. This includes lab and field testing.
Project management including developing and monitoring schedule, resource requirements, cost and budget estimates and expenditures and product performance to specification.
Presentation of design and project reviews as requested by management. These may be presented internally or to customers.
Review and disposition of requests for support from other areas of the organization. This can take the form of product improvements, cost reduction projects, disposition decisions for non-conforming material, etc.
Maintain working knowledge of all engineering department operating procedures and policies including ISO procedures.
Interact with many departments within the company such as Marketing and Field Services, Supply Chain Management, and Metallurgy and the on-site Foundry.
Required Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of five (5) years experience in product design of similar equipment
Successful completion of the Engineer in Training Exam or ten (10) years experience in engineering and product design
Experience in project management a plus
A minimum of one year of experience in the use of 3D CAD as related to product design
Proficiency in the use of Windows, word processing, spreadsheets and database management |
