Job Description
Overview:

Responsible for leading, coaching and implementing process improvement projects (using Lean, Six Sigma, and other HyPerformance Improvement Practices) within the business to exceed customer expectations, enhance quality, reduce cost, improve safety, and increase earnings

Responsibilities:



· Creates, oversees, and maintains a Lean manufacturing environment (e.g., Value Stream Mapping) to continually develop and refine production systems to achieve world-class manufacturing standards for quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction

· Develops and executes process improvement project plans. Defines and standardizes best practices among the group and provides training and formalization of expectations

· Analyzes and resolves product quality and complex manufacturing issues. Determination of root cause. Create action plan which includes schedule, budget and resourcing

· Specifies, selects and justifies new capital equipment, manages capital equipment budget for area of responsibility

· Develops effective communication processes to continually improve team climate

· Coaches associates across area of responsibility on Lean and Six-Sigma practices, principles and tools

· Partners with business teams and recommends design improvements to new and existing products to ensure process capability which supports design for manufacturing

· Supports daily requirements of manufacturing cells and Lean manufacturing processes by establishing a presence on the production floor and a rapport with the team leaders, technicians, and production associates

· Acts as a Change Agent to apply Lean, Six-Sigma, and Project Planning and Management to lead teams through improvement projects that will achieve and sustain targets set for area key business indicators

· Independently develops and executes a process improvement project plan that significantly impacts the business

· Ensures consistent and accurate communication of project status to key stakeholders

· Monitors and maintains integrity of project measurement, improvements and tollgates

· Assists project teams in establishing goals and common objectives through consensus driven decision-making, resulting in organizational change and process improvements

· Provides structured processes (e.g. brainstorming, 5 whys) to assist kaizen and project teams in defining and achieving goals

· Adapts existing processes to support kaizen and project teams.

· Participates or leads other projects or assignments as needed

Qualifications:

Required

B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, with 2-5 years related experience and Black Belt Certification strongly preferred

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Experience driving continuous improvement projects in a manufacturing environment

· Advanced project management skills

· Advanced problem solving skills

· Experienced change agent

· Strong analytical skills

· Demonstrated facilitation skills

· Computer skills (MS Office proficiency, statistical analysis tools)

· Demonstrated technical leadership abilities

· Experience in training design and delivery

· Demonstrated facilitation skills

Preferred

M.S./MBA or advanced graduate degree with 2+ years experience as a Black Belt.

· Experience in industrial or technical related field

· Manufacturing floor experience

Physical Demands:

· Comfortable working in any type of business setting (e.g. office, production, supplier, customer)

· Able to flex working hours as needed to accommodate fast paced, high growth 3 shift manufacturing environment
