The Opportunity:

Responsibilities:
Understanding of OSHA 501 and continual focus to insure compliance
Work closely with manufacturing management team to proactively identify and address safety issues
Clear understanding of MSDS of all material received in department
Work with Quality to ensure all products are made within specifications
Ensure all specifications are accurate and match BOM’s
Work with Quality to ensure appropriate product testing processes are in place to assure customer satisfaction
Complete all new product quotes timely and accurately
Ensure new product standards are created and costs match quotes
Maintenance of system BOM’s and routings to ensure accuracy
Ensure most effective materials are being use din product
Investigate other materials that can be used to enhance product performance
Responsible for understanding our product attributes versus competitors
Visit customers with sales to help understand new product requirements
Act as liaison between sales, manufacturing, quality and purchasing to ensure new products are built to meet specifications
Participate on industry boards
Create new (and maintain current) BOM’s and ensure accuracy
Ensure all labor routings are properly recorded in the standards
Work with Mfg Engineer and manufacturing on programs to improve labor efficiency
Responsible for effective employee motivation and recognition, team development and mentoring
Clear understanding of department goals and objectives
Improve design engineering specifications to leverage manufacturing capabilities and meet customer requirements
Responsible for reviewing and creating ECN’s as required to improve quality, design/manufacturability and/or cost
Participates in alternate materials review and test program teams
Qualifications:
Minimum skill sets/requirements for the open position as follows:
Engineering degree: BS Mechanical or Chemical.
Product development or product/process design experience. (> 3 years)
Experience managing a project from initial design to production
Experience working in a manufacturing environment and providing engineering support to manufacturing
Preferable skill sets/experience
Product development engineering experience at a fiberglass insulation company
Demonstrated ability to convert the voice of the customer information into product design
Training and certification in six sigma tools preferable. Experience using these tools to collect, analyze and ultimately make data driven decisions
Demonstrated progression in job responsibilities with emphasis in Quality Assurance, working on product development teams with sales/marketing, value engineering product lines and experience in managing projects to completion |
