The Opportunity:
Goodman is seeking a professional, skilled individual for our Metallurgical Engineer. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to validating the Dayton components and processes are performing to expectation. This position will be responsible for verifying that the Dayton finished product is manufactured in an environment that promote zero defects in the structural integrity of the unit. This position will be responsible for validating material and process development. This will be a working position with a large percentage of the time being spent collecting, preparing and measuring samples. Responsibilities:
Evaluate Braze Joint integrity by performing metallographic measurement of porosity in the braze joint
Evaluate heat transfer integrity by performing cross sectional analysis of the expanded hairpin tubing
Validate the physical properties of the aluminum, copper and steel components against the material certifications to promote minimal process variation
Perform corrosion analysis on existing designs as well as validation testing on proposed designs
Maintain and improve testing equipment in the lab and develop strategies for the on-going validation of line test equipment
Prepare reports and make recommendations on material and process improvements to drive continuous improvement and reduced product costs for our customers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering
2 years of experience working in a laboratory environment
Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is desired
Must have excellent analytical skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good computer knowledge in MS Office, Statistical Process Control Tools and
Measurement System Analysis
Good knowledge in PFMEA, process flow and process controls
Negative results on drug screen |
