Due to the growth of our business, Dynamet Incorporated, a Carpenter company, seeks a Metallurgist for our facility in the Greater Pittsburgh area. We are seeking a results-oriented professional with demonstrated experience in both titanium and wire products within a manufacturing environment.
In this important role, you will, Develop and modify process formulations, methods and controls to meet customer requirement standards. Recommend and implement improvements, modifications and additions that will solve problems and standardize processes. Integrate customer and product requirements with product development activities to identify robust, cost effective solutions that satisfy customer needs. Act as single point of contact and technical expert for material science information in support of customer and production needs. Interface as necessary with customers, suppliers, production employees, production supervisors, engineers, and management.
To qualify you must have a BS or MS degree in Materials Science/related discipline or equivalent experience combined with a minimum of 2 years proven technical experience in the metals industry working with titanium. Comprehensive knowledge of metallurgical principles, standards, methods, practices and equipment required. Six Sigma Training a plus. The ability to effectively manage metallurgical projects and teams is required and strong communication skills are a must. The ability to work independently and effectively with employees and customers at all levels is essential. Additional requirements include excellent problem solving, decision-making & strong prioritization skills as well as PC proficiency.
