Job Description | Responsible for executing microstructure analysis and other metallurgical testing of stamped sheet metal materials to assure production of parts that consistently meet customer requirements.
This position serves as the key person within the department to provide materials expertise to the company.
This role will certify and recommend proper material utilization depending on the application for new product developments or customer support and drive cost reduction programs.
This individual will verify material compliance of chemical properties to predetermined specs and prepare reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data for feedback and improvement.
This position will have contact with the customer and steel suppliers.
Discuss data from analyzing and summarizing material properties.
Job Requirements
Ability to work well with others and exhibit teamwork skills. Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently.
Must be thoroughly familiar with the automotive specifications of TS and ISO quality systems and PPAP, APQP and FMEA procedures
Steel research background
Experience in hot stamping/press hardable steel grades
Experience in Hot Dip Galvanizing / zinc coatings
Requirements
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. |
