| Job Description | JOB SUMMARY:
Samtec is looking for an ambitious individual interested in exploring the senior level career opportunity of Microelectronics Product Engineer. The person in this specialized role will work directly with customers to design, develop, and deliver manufacturable solutions for a wide range of semiconductor, MEMS, photonics, and microfluidic devices. The MPE will plan and manage all activities associated with key development initiatives, ensure customer requirements are properly identified and relayed to engineering, and own the customer relationship until a manufacturable solution has been rolled out to production.
Performance Objectives:
Work directly with Marketing and Sales to review opportunities and create proposals/quotes for customers
Act as liaison between internal engineering groups and customers to establish/refine product requirements
Drive/assist with package design efforts
Prepare and effectively communicate the details of a product development plan including technical development efforts, budget and schedule details both within the organization and as the primary customer contact
Drive/assist in developing technical roadmap in preparation for product development including identifying risk areas associated with different package/assembly options and summarizing the associated ROI
Participate in planning associated with required evaluations/experiments to clearly understand or mitigate packaging risks
Develop/review documentation/methods in support of providing strong manufacturing solutions to production
Primary product owner and customer contact until solution rolled out to production
Supervisory responsibility for Engineers or Technicians may be required
Requirements:
BS or greater in engineering, materials or the physical sciences
Minimum five years of directly related experience in the Semiconductor Industry
Demonstrated hands-on experience in assembly process development is required as is a hands-on understanding of the equipment and materials that are used in the industry
Experience in microelectronic / microsystem package design and SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or other engineering design, modeling or simulation software is desirable |
