Minerals Processing Engineer

Job Description
Summary

The person in this position will lead multi-discipline project teams and provide process and extractive metallurgical-type engineering and related technical expertise. Leadership role assignments may include design and analysis, material balances, instrumentation and control diagrams, modeling, pilot plant testing, developing process flowsheets, writing reports and equipment specifications, estimating costs, and sizing process equipment. The chosen candidate will work on projects involving both ferrous and nonferrous minerals, industrial minerals, coal and oil sands. The work may at times require short-term, out-of-town work assignments.

NOTE:Some work locations may feature rough terrain typical of industrial sites and may also require entering and working within facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities. Safety training will be provided for work in these areas.


Minimum Qualifications

B.S. in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing, or Materials Sciences with academic coursework directly related to the job responsibilities described above.

At least fifteen years of related experience.

Experience working at industrial sites either as an operating engineer or as a consultant.

Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Willingness to work in a project team environment that encourages self-initiative.

A flexible working style as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs.

Familiarity with basic Microsoft Office software packages, especially Excel.

Ability to market and develop work in the process field and the supporting disciplines.

Acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications


MS or a Phd. in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering.

20 + years of related experience.

Professional Engineering (P.E.) licensure.

Spanish fluency.
