Job Description | SUMMARY: Inspects, cleans and assembles tooling:
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reads mold repair requests provided by the mold maintenance team leader.
Reads blue prints for disassembly and assembly of tooling.
Identifies over 100 different mold tools and their assembly.
Problem-solves with molding department personnel, to include reading mold schedule and mold trouble-shooting cards.
Prepares mold parts for repair in the machine shop for tool makers.
Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly.
Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.
Completes projects to defined maintenance procedures and instructions.
Removes and installs mold parts in injection molding machines and tests operation of mold components to ensure functionality and performance.
Services hot runner systems in use.
Operates welding equipment to cut or weld parts (gas torch primarily).
Operates drill press, belt sander, sand blaster, pedestal grinder and numerous hand tools.
Possesses and utilizes basic understanding of electrical items in the mold tooling.
Ability to use provided required tools such as: wrenches, hammers, drivers, drill indexes, safety glasses, measuring tools, allen keys, flash light, wire cutters and pliers.
Ability to read micrometers, depth micrometers and dial calipers.
Responsible for reporting food safety problems to management.
Maintains company attendance standards

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
Related trade school degree or Associates degree.
Or 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write routine reports in English. Ability to speak effectively with company employees and supervisors in English.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractional and decimals. Ability to convert imperial numbers into metric. Ability to read a micrometer.
Ability to recall up to 100 different mold tools and their assembly.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Take the initiative to ask for and offer help when needed.
Works a minimum of 40 hours weekly and subject to work holidays, overtime and weekends as business needs require.
