R&D Motion Control and Robotics Engineer

We’re looking for an R&D Motion Control and Robotics Engineer to invent, develop and test robotics systems and controllers. If you are creative, inventive and self-directed, this is your chance to be a part of the Next Industrial Revolution with MakerBot.


As R& D Motion Control and Robotics Engineer, you will: •Generate new methods and systems for 3D printing and other technologies
•Create technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing
•Create innovative designs based on specifications
•Acquire and test prototype systems
•Create SolidWorks models and simulations
•Create detailed lab reports

To be considered for the Motion Control/Robotics Engineer position, you need: •BA/BS degree in engineering or related field
•2+ years experience creating new robotic devices and systems
•Experience designing printers, scanners, or other electromechanical consumer products
•Broad technical knowledge of motion control, mechanical systems and interfaces
•Strong experience with SolidWorks and FEA tools
•Ability to think quickly and act decisively
•Ability to work in a team
•Ability to work independently

Extra Experience counts too! •Direct experience with 3D printing or with MakerBot products
•Experience in Research & Development
•Experience working in a hardware startup company
•Member of the open source 3D printing community
