Description
Our Customer Service Group is seeking a qualified Motion Control Specialist who can work independently and enjoys a challenge. This individual will provide post-sales technical support for all Exlar Servo and Electronic products. This support will be provided to external customers, sales channel members as well as internally to Exlar sales and marketing.
Responsibilities
Technical support
•Troubleshooting and installation support of control systems, wiring, software configuration and programming related to equipment with Exlar integrated products used in industrial automation, packaging, manufacturing, process, robotics and other motion control related industries.
•Working knowledge of various third party servo drive, HMI and PLC configuration and programming packages, i.e. Rockwell-Allen Bradley, Siemens, Control Techniques, Kollmorgan, Yaskawa, Mitsubishi, Horner and others as required.
•Working knowledge and understanding of field bus communications related, i.e. Modbus, PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, CanOpen
•Create and maintain technical documentation related to integrating Exlar products with third party devices and controllers.
Sales support
•Work directly Sales Channel, OEMs, Integrators and end users to support Exlar products interfacing with third party servo drives, PLC, HMI, DCS and various control systems.
•Provide training for technical sales channel
Manufacturing and Engineering support
•Manage and maintain database of connectivity for Exlar products
•Support production functional test department
•Support work instructions and setup for new servo drives and functional test systems.
•Support new development projects as necessary
The ideal candidate will have a minimum two year technical degree in appropriate discipline and at least two years of experience in applications, integration and/or technical support for motion control products. This position may require 25% field service travel as required.
This person must be capable of conducting technical activities with minimal direction and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. |
