Job Description | Description: This position is responsible for supporting and administering network and applications systems with an emphasis on system maintenance, software support and integration. Additional functions include end user support and taking a proactive role in the development of new systems. The infrastructure includes LAN and WAN environments across multiple locations.
Major Responsibilities:
Manage and assist in the development and support of internal processes and the integration of related or new systems as they become available
Involvement in the research, development and testing of system upgrades and implementation of new solutions to improve the workflow efficiency of the company
Experience within ERP and MRP SQL driven applications, including troubleshooting and support
Will perform network and system administration tasks as required
Monitor system processes to ensure performance levels are running efficiently reducing downtime
Regularly create accurate and detailed reports and support documentation
Documents and describes system problems and resolutions
Work in close alliance with all departments to provide service excellence participate in planning and debriefing meetings
Working with end users to diagnose and resolve IT related incidents.
Participate in rotating on-call schedule with other members of the IT Services department as required
Assist or perform with special projects or assignments as directed by the IT Manager
Work alongside other team members, and with the IT Manager as required
Some travel required infrequently, mainly within the US.
Minimum Requirements:
Degree in information technology or related field. Proven experience or expertise may be used in place of an IT degree
This role requires a minimum of three years experience within an enterprise environment using Active Directory
You must possess (or ready to take examination of) at least a current MCP or related Microsoft certification within Windows Server and Windows operating systems. MCSA or higher preferred
CompTIA A+, Net+, or Cisco certification considered a plus
Exposure to application integration, including, ERP/MRP, SharePoint and Microsoft SQL.
Proven experience with data driven reporting tools and ODBC related systems
Knowledge of routing protocols, switching, and endpoint protection including Firewalls and VPN connectivity and remote access
Programming experience preferred, especially within one or more of the following: WSH, PowerShell, Visual Basic, .NET, HTML/ASP, Java, XML, C++ or C#
Excellent verbal and excellent written communication skills
Ability to use Visio and other documentation tools for detailed reporting and presentations
Flexible work ethic with a desire to work as a valued team member
Physical Demands of Position:
Good eye sight, color perception, hearing, listening, clear speech, dexterity in hands. Able to lift, climb, and mount/ dismount equipment minimum of 50 lbs. Requires 70-80% of sitting.
