New Product Launch Manager

Job Description
Objectives
The New Product Launch Manager will ensure the successful launch of New Products in EMA’s Cold factories. Primary responsibilities will be for 2014 Energy programs, including 2013/2014 E Star programs. The Launch Manager will be the primary liaison between factory functions and R&D to ensure successful on-time launches.

Key operational responsibilities

· Coordinate cross-functional team activities to support new product launches, including engineering, quality, manufacturing, Product Line, Marketing and Service

· Coordinate and support prototype builds for new or special models

· Own and document required inputs into PMF for each New Product

· Own the Product Launch Process

· Coordinate all required PMF CP builds on the manufacturing line, including Pre-Pilot, Pilot and Production Start-Ups

· Conduct Product Manufacturing/Safety Reviews

· Represent Manufacturing at all PMF Gate Reviews

· Audit BOMs

· Coordinate with Master Scheduler and Advanced Materials Manager to ensure scheduled launches are planned and on time

· Support all Project Team Meetings and provide required reports and documentation

· Assist with New Product scoping activities

· Assist with supplier qualifications as required

· Responsible for ensuring Work Instructions are completed

· Responsible for ensuring PFMEAs are completed

· Manage all Manufacturing process changes and factory/product improvements to assure readiness for New Product launches

Reporting to
DOE Program Mgr & Manufacturing

Competencies needed

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering or related field

· 5+ years experience in manufacturing environment

· Practical working experience on new product introductions and engineering changes

· Practical working knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and failure modes and effects analysis (DFMEA & PFMEA) techniques

· Ability to manage multiple product development projects simultaneously

· Ability to react rapidly and adapt to changing product development objectives, budgets, and request dates

· Computer Skills, including MS Office – Excel, Word & PowerPoint

· Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
