Job Description

Enterprise Business Services (EBS) is a new Division within Transamerica that has been established to identify common functions across the organization that could potentially be better leveraged as a shared service. Responsibilities
Directs and provides leadership in the Statutory, Tax and IFRS valuation of our UL insurance products. Oversees a small team within the FAS97 valuation area.
· Spearheads the quarterly valuation of our most visible block of UL products.
· Will provide and present a quarterly attribution analysis of IFRS earnings to divisional CFO and Chief Actuary.
· Monitors and analyzes developments in actuarial techniques, laws and regulations applicable to company operations, and competitive developments in the marketplace as well as those specific to UL block.
· May represent the company on industry and professional committees and/or with regulators.
· Will supervise a small team of actuarial students.
· Other duties as assigned based on divisional needs.
· Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
· Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance.
Qualifications
SA or equivalent professional designation along with Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field and 3+ years of general industry experience. In lieu of Bachelor's, will accept Master's in a listed discipline and 4 years of relevant experience. In lieu of FSA will accept ASA or equivalent professional designation and at least 6 years of relevant experience. Demonstrates high quality leadership, judgment, organization and prioritization skills. Effectively communicates, both verbally and in writing, advanced mathematical and analytical concepts to various audiences. Works well under pressure and within time constraints to effectively accomplish individual and team objectives. Must demonstrate a willingness to instigate and promote change; and be willing to adopt calculated risks to do so. This is a non-rotational position with the ideal candidate expected to remain for a period of at least 2 years. Excellent computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with actuarial valuation software (e.g. PolySystems) would be a plus.
