Position Summary:
In this unique role, the Technical Product Manager will be responsible for managing the product development process for Operations and the Service Delivery organization- ensuring all new products developed at IPC are designed with operational requirements in mind, as well as managing the end to end product management process for Operations - from inception through to GA. This individual will also use their strong technical background to ensure industry best practices are being followed and we leverage all technology and tools available to ensure we maximize efficiency & supportability of new products, enhancing the customer experience. The end goal is to ensure operational readiness of each new product at IPC.
This individual comes from a technical background, and must possess knowledge of IP Telephony, TCP/IP Networking, and core IT System Engineer skills (Operating Systems, Server technology, etc.) with experience in project management. The person will be assigned to support projects for new products being developed at IPC, for which he/she will be responsible for (a) reviewing MRD's and providing comment during initial project planning phase, (b) gather requirements and create an Operations Requirement Documentation (ORD) outlining requirements for Operations, (c) provide technical guidance on operational requirements to both Product Management and Engineering throughout the development process, (d) Analyzing the impact on operational processes and procedures, working with Operations and other functions to draft new/revised processes to support the new product (e) managing the product roll-out, from Alpha to Beta to GA.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
A Technical Product Manager has responsibility for oversight on all Operational
Requirements for all new products at IPC, inclusive of technical guidelines and product interdependencies for a given product and development.
Manage development projects from an operational perspective - from the definition phase to the General Availability and ensure it meets operational requirements.
Primary Operations contact to gather Operational feedback on technical reviews of MRD's, ORD's and SFS's.
Assemble and chair Operations Task forces and User Groups to review documentation, prototypes and new product system features.
Ability to work with the Engineering organization in a team environment to learn in-depth technical aspects of new product development, to drive operations requirements within engineering based on both TS/NS Operational needs, and champion the implementation of operational requirements within new product development.
Regularly seek feedback and knowledge from Service Delivery teams on current Operational procedures and processes.
Coordinate and create Knowledge Transfer sessions and define training strategy for new products.
Participate in Alpha activities for new products
Project manage all Beta activities for new products
Provide Operational oversight and support, reporting to customer and IPC management on Beta status.
Will be present on customer site during Beta activities
Create and track Operations Readiness project plans for each new product
Prepare presentations and deliver them to engineering project teams.
This individual is capable of working with minimum direction, is a self-starter, diligent and details oriented, and excellent communications skills.
This individual must have experience with remote diagnostics, be able to digest a variety of technical information and understand the needs of our customers.
Required Education:
BS Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
Cisco Networking Certifications strongly desired
Other Technical Certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.) a plus
Project Management Certifications (PMP, etc.) a plus
Required Experience / Skills:
Minimum 5 years experience with VoIP, Telephony, Networking, and IT server technologies
Financial industry experience a plus.
In depth knowledge of VoIP Networking standards, architecture, protocols, management, and best practices.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Linux, Windows, firewalls.
Project management experience – managing technical projects in a cross functional environment.
Strong written, oral communications and presentation skills.
