We are currently looking for an outstanding Plant Controller with proven leadership skills and a solid accounting background who has demonstrated the ability to drive the departmental and plant to higher levels of efficiency through being unsatisfied with current state and the way things have always been done.
Create the vision for and lead the finance, procurement, and IT function for the plant and be a key member and decision maker of the senior management team through clearly articulating the future state of the department and developing strategies and tactics to achieve the vision.
Serve as a trusted a business partner and advisor for plant management on a broad range of business concepts, projects and day-to-day operations.
Proactively recruit, develop and grow direct reports through managing performance, setting meaningful goals, mentoring, and tough conversations.
Through sound financial modeling practices, lead the plant in improving financial metrics including working capital, cash flow, forecasting and cost reductions and other key performance indicators.
Use creativity and resources to conceive new and different ways of doing things and drive the department and the plant to higher levels of efficiency.
Analyze and report on key plant operational and financial metrics (recurring and ad-hoc), and present plant financial performance in various formats and forums as required.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting activities, including fixed asset management, inventory valuation, cost modeling, period closing & reporting, budgeting/forecasting, and overall asset and liability control.
Ensure appropriate support of divisional requirements and functions.
Raising the financial awareness and understanding of key (non-finance) plant personnel through formal and informal education and mentorship.
Ensure maintenance of accurate and complete financial records in compliance with legal requirements, local accounting, and U.S. GAAP standards
Job Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, and MBA preferred.
7+ years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated ability to develop and grow people.
Demonstrated experience with the ABC cost modeling.
Proven ability to influence others and gain buy-in through leadership presence and building trusting relationships.
Demonstrated ability to create a direction and tone in a manufacturing environment in alignment with plant and North American goals
Proven ability to anticipate changes and needs from the plant and from corporate support functions.
Preference for candidate that have experience managing procurement and IT personnel.
Experience in quickly learning about products, sales and operations in a new environment.
Above average communication and presentation skills.
Ability to travel domestically and potentially internationally, up to 10%.
