-Education & Training:
• MS in Optics, Applied Optics or Physics.
-Experience:
• Two–five years of work experience or equivalent research experience.
-Knowledge & Skills:
• Competent in state of the art optical modeling software(Zemax, CodeV or equivalent).
• Up to date on state of the art imaging and lighting technologies (CCD, CMOS, LED, etc.)
• Knowledgeable on current display technology (LCD, OLED, DLP).
• Tolerance analysis (alignment and assembly).
• Experience with illumination analysis software Light Tools, ASAP preferred.
• Strong project management skills.
• Goal oriented, dedicated, self-motivating and able to multitask.
• Enthusiastic to learn and willing to take ownership of projects.
• Effective communication skills: listening, writing, speaking and oral presentations • Ability to develop, design and validate your concepts through testing of actual prototypes in the lab.
Your area of activity
Job Purpose:
• Leads optical product design and development. Recommends manufacturing strategies to meet specified cost targets.
Responsibilities:
• Designs optical systems, imaging and illumination, traditional and (imaging) fiber optics.
• Defines optical/mechanical specifications for systems and components (with vendors and customers)
• Plans for design optimization for cost/performance.
• Performs optical measurements and evaluates data.
• Prepares project proposals, statements of work and technical notes, presentations to customers/management.
• Understands and recommends/specs manufacturing processes to fabricate glass and polymer optical components.
• Performs an active role as work package leader or project/sub-project leader.
• Defines and implements optical test systems (e.g. transmission, MTF, light source characterization, etc.)
• Plans, organizes and maintains optics lab.
• Development and documentation of test procedures and protocols.
• Performs other engineering functions of a similar nature as assigned. |
