Initial duties will include:
§ Troubleshooting problems that occur during the manufacturing process of the optical coatings related to uniformity, color, and stress.
§ Documenting standard operating procedures, training guidelines, and what if scenarios.
§ Working closely with machine operators training them and communicating with them to troubleshoot problems occurring in the process.
Future Responsibilities will include:
§ Establish operating parameters for new processes; conduct optimization experiments; establish best practices and procedures.
§ Work with product and process development teams to prepare for new processes.
§ Improve yields, lower costs, and increase manufacturing uptime for new products/processes.
§ Conduct designed experiments to understand manufacturing processes and improve efficiencies.
§ Carry out experiments to improve product quality.
Monitors yields, quality, machine uptime, etc. and identify trends.
Job Requirements :
An ideal candidate for this position will be an organized professional with excellent analytical and communication skills. Below are key requirements that are essential for success within the position:
§ Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science, Physics, or one of the Engineering disciplines.
§ 2-5 years experience in Optical Thin Film technologies
§ Large area sputtering system and/or sputtered optical thin film technologies a plus.
§ Experience with statistical methods and analysis.
§ Understanding of thin film and materials testing techniques such as Auger, XPS, SEM, and XRD.
§ Ability to conduct design and process failure modes and effects analysis.
§ Experience with complex projects; ability to analyze problems quickly; development of corrective actions.
§ Ability to communicate ideas, concepts, and plans across multiple levels.
§ Experience TF Calc, Optilayer, or other thin film modeling packages |
