Job Description
•Assist in development and introduction into manufacturing of opto-electronic semiconductor laser and fiber based products (from component to subsystem level) and to provide further support within manufacturing for troubleshooting and process improvement.
•Working with senior opto-mechanical design engineers, be responsible for first prototype build / proof of principle and the technical support, writing of process documents, and training of operators for the initial production builds.
•Act as primary support for manufacturing of existing and new laser products.
•Responsible for documentation of engineering changes to existing products and to assist in examination and documentation of failed devices and any field returns.
Job Qualifications
•Demonstrated manufacturing experience, involving optics, mechanics, and electrical instrumentation. Experienced with small opto-mechanical system design and function.
•Strong problem solving skills, and good experimental technique, coupled to an absolute attention to detail.
•Experience with mechanical design using Solidworks and or AutoCad preferred.
•Proficiency in automation of prototype experiments, data collection and processing using Labview, VB6, or VB.net.
• Excellent writing and presentation skills, making use of clear concise models and calculations to support proposed engineering improvements; good use of tools such as Excel, Matlab, Powerpoint, etc.,
??Education and/or Experience
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optics, or Physics. 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment dealing with (or related to) opto-electronic devices. |
