Description

The Sr. Facultative Underwriter for TransRe is a self-starter with demonstrated technical underwriting skills and the ability to manage an existing profitable book of diversified business, including D&O and non-medical professional liability lines
Marketing is a critical component of the job and the successful candidate will have the ability to manage existing trading relationships with placing brokers and cedents, as well as develop new sources of distribution.


Requirements

5 to 10 years of D&O underwriting experience with a focus on large, complex commercial and/or financial institution risks

Primary Insurance or Facultative Reinsurance underwriting experience required

Professional Liability experience desirable, but not required. Will consider strong non-
D&O candidates with Professional Liability backgrounds

RPLU designation and understanding of reinsurance a plus

B.A. / B.S. in Business, Finance, Insurance or related field(s) preferred

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the capability to work independently but in a collaborative, team-based environment

Thorough understanding of market policy forms & coverage

Well-organized and detail-oriented with a strong ability to communicate ideas and opinions internally & externally

Sound financial analysis skills. Ability to perform financial analysis of balance sheets, net income & cash flow statements of underlying risks

Good analytical skills. Ability to identify macro / micro industry trends and issues in order to assess risk and evaluate exposure

Microsoft Excel proficiency

Knowledge & ability to navigate financial software such as Bloomberg and/or SNL is desirable.

10-20% travel is required.
