Darigold is seeking a Plant Controller to be a part of Darigold’s team. The Plant Controller must possess the desire and ability to plant, organize and provide analysis in all phases of the accounting process to assure the facility has the tools needed to operate in an efficient manner. As a member of the team, the Plant Controller will be a partner in the Ingredients Division. The Plant Controllers role is to Develop and maintain a close working relationship with production and support departments by providing analytical support and data in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

General Accounting: Ensure compliance with Darigold policies and procedures. Maintain integrity of plant general ledger with regards to GAAP. Assist with establishing and maintaining the organization’s plant accounting practices, processes, procedures, and initiatives. Track daily waste and communicate to plant management staff on a daily basis.
Responsible for monthly journal entries. Overhead analysis and reporting; including labor and overhead.

Cost Accounting: Assist in monthly financial close and reporting cycle, including manufacturing variances and other financial reporting requirements. Also responsible for inventory valuation, production reporting, various inventory reconciliation, and maintenance of standards. Responsible for account reconciliations.

Planning/Forecasting: Responsible for planning and forecasting updates to – Cost of Sales, production, inventory reconciliation, manufacturing variances, capital spending, and staffing.

Decision Support/Business Partnering: Partner with plant management and staff to support objectives of operations. Participate in plant problem solving and Continuous Improvement teams as finance representative provide manufacturing support and analysis in such areas as process performance, line efficiency, capital spending, inventory management, customer service objectives, production costing, and cost reduction.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Understanding of computer driven process controls for a manufacturing facility

Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision

Excellent oral and written communication skills

High degree of initiative and flexibility

Ability to manage multiple priorities with an analytical methodology

Demonstrated problem solver

Strong sense of urgency to drive to the solution

Strong team player

Strong cost and/or inventory control experience within a manufacturing environment.

Proficient in Excel and other software.


Education, Experience and Certifications:

Accounting/Finance Degree and 5+ years combined experience in accounting

Extensive (5+ years) people management experience
