Manage all aspects of the accounting function, including but not limited to general ledger, accounts receivable and payable functions manufacturing and product costing, and bank reconciliations. Responsible for analyzing complex company financial performance to plan and prepare financial packages, budgets, plans, forecasts and actuals based on the analysis. Ensure compliance with all accounting practices under General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and company policies and procedures. This position manages complex and confidential company financial records and operates with significant discretion and autonomy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for all accounting functions, including but not limited to capital investment planning, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, general ledger, bank reconciliations, payroll processing, etc. according to established policies and procedures
2. Responsible for the month and year end close processes
3. Prepare periodic financial reporting for Business Unit Review (BUR), operations and capital budgets or other ad hoc analyses or special projects as requested
4. Perform complex financial analysis and providing recommendations in support of new products, services, operational processes
5. Develop financial performas in support of new products, services, and plant and equipment capital expenditures
6. Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Supply Chain and prepare actual to standard cost analyses that identify cost savings, costing materials and product costs that result in competitive pricing and sales opportunities
7. Support and utilize Material Resource Planning (MRP) and QAD applications to help the company monitor performance
8. Supervise the payroll processing and functions
9. Mange the accounting staff for coaching, performance and job direction
10. Ensure compliance with all accounting practices under General Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP), company policies and procedures
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related degree
2. Minimum of eight (8) years of progressively increasing accounting or finance experience in a manufacturing environment that includes budgets, general ledger, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, capital investment planning, taxation and business law
3. Previous experience in product costing and pricing, preferably in a food capacity
4. Demonstrated knowledge in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
5. Demonstrated experience in complex financial analysis, reporting and budgeting forecasting
6. Minimum of three (3) years in a formal supervisory position, performing the full scope of supervisory responsibilities (i.e. coaching, mentoring, performance management, etc.)
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software with expertise in Microsoft Office, with expertise in Excel and Access
8. Previous experience with MRP or ERP applications
9. Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather and analyze information
10. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex financial data to a non-technical audience
11. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, time-sensitive priorities with a results-oriented approach
12. Demonstrates sound judgment-making ability and willingness to exhibit sound and accurate judgment in a timely manner |
