Armour-Eckrich Meats LLC, a member of the John Morrell Food Group, is currently looking for a Plant Controller for their Omaha, NE plant.
Responsible for all accounting/financial functions at the facility. This includes, but is not limited to; annual budgeting, financial performance recording and analysis, preparation of monthly production cost summary, departmental spending analysis, forecasting, bill of materials analysis, standard costing updates, KPI reporting, end of period accounting close, the management of plant payroll and accounts payable, and financial controls and compliance within the Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) framework.
Compile and analyze data relating to financial performance, production costing, and inventory functions.
Reviews, analyzes and reports on the financial position of the plant to appropriate plant and corporate departments on a timely basis.
Reconciles production and inventory transactions and reports the status of each to both corporate and plant management.
Responsible for end of period accounting close and input of financial data into appropriate corporate ledger accounts and reporting results to both plant and corporate management.
Provides timely measurement and explanations of plant variances and operating costs on a weekly and monthly basis.
Responsible for completing annual operating budget for the plant in conjunction with plant manager and plant supervisors.
Responsible for formulating plant forecasts for each fiscal month and quarter on a weekly basis.
Responsible for ensuring that Corporate policy is adhered to specifically regarding BOM audits and Fixed Asset reviews.
Responsible for organizing, understanding and approving all BOM quotes within the facility.
Develops and implements accounting policy and procedures to the Company’s financial control requirements and government compliance (Sarbanes Oxley).
Partner with operations management to identify savings opportunities.

Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required
5– 7 years of relevant experience is required
3– 5 years of supervisory experience preferred
Diversified experience is preferred
Experience with SAP is desired
Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles)
Exceptional PC skills required (spreadsheets, database management, presentations, word processing, etc)
Solid work ethic with a high level of energy; can take a roll-up-the-sleeves’ approach
Strong communication skills (verbal & written) |
