Plans, performs and directs APQP tasks and ongoing product and process control activities
Prepares all necessary advanced quality planning documents and actively participates in quality planning activities including FMEA'S, Process Flow Diagrams, control plans, gage R&R studies, capability studies, and PPAP documentation
Monitors the part qualification and certification process and provides regular updates to the project team
Prepares all necessary documentation for customer initial sample submissions including APQP, customer specific documents, and any other required documentation
Reviews and approves supplier quality plans for future products
Works within a team environment as initiator and pursuer of team objectives
Communicates the status of all APQP activities to internal and external customers
Initiator of product improvements, cost reductions and product quality improvements
Responsible for multiple customer projects and tasks including keeping managers informed of critical issues and concerns
Responsible for identifying, communicating and implementing continuous improvement opportunities
Measures performance and customer satisfaction for assigned area
May be assigned as a ""lead"" team member

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
Specific education and training in Quality disciplines including QS9000, Continuous Improvement, Total Quality
Management, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, DoE, and SPC Leadership/management experience
Minimum of three years experience in a Quality Engineering or Research & Development position in an automotive manufacturing environment
Experience in measurement techniques used in manufacturing environment
Strong PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)
Full proficiency in fundamental quality engineering concepts, practices, and procedures
Understanding of advanced statistical concepts and design of experiments
Highly proficient in print reading and interpretation of part requirements
Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing experience desirable
A background in one of the following manufacturing processes is a plus: sheet material fabrication, plastic injection molding, or aluminum die casting |
