Job Description
The Principal Electrical Engineer will provide electrical engineering/design services. Provide guidance and mentoring to other electrical designers. Work within a multi-discipline project team providing design, implementation and support of power distribution, motion and automation controls.

Responsibilities:
•Provide guidance and mentoring to co-designers on project concepts and engineering practices.
•Manage and implement system documentation practices and file structure for electrical engineering.
•Review system designs for accuracy, cost effectives and collinearity with project requirements and time lines.
•Assist engineering manager with project management and scheduling.
•Create electrical designs in accordance with project specific requirements.
•Prepare detailed schematics and panel designs.
•Prepare detailed bill of materials.
•Research and specify electrical components based on project requirements.
•Provide technical assistance to manufacturing during system integration.
•Assist with system power up, trouble shooting and programming.
•Design and program PLC logic.
•Prepare sequence of operation documentation.
•Provide technical assistance to the Service department.
•Special projects as necessary.

Required Experience:
•BS (MS preferred) in electrical/electronics/automation control or similar degree.
•Thorough knowledge of AutoCad 2D, the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, thorough knowledge of electrical design and techniques
•8+ years of experience in related field, ability to be self-directed, work with minimal supervision and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
•Must have knowledge of NEC, NRTL, UL, CSA & CE.
•Mitsubishi PLC platforms experience a plus!

Additional Qualifications:
Ability to present complex technical information to internal and external customers
Experience working on cross functional teams (Sales, Supply Chain, Software, Production, etc.)
Ability to make sound, critical, process related decisions on the spot and know when to consult with peers
Demonstrated project management experience is helpful but not required (MS Project)
Experience with optical or x-ray imaging systems a plus!
