Job Description:
•Provide senior technical leadership and expertise in executing highly complex and specialized research projects.
•Resolve complex technical problems with innovative and creative solutions.
•Serve as SME at the highest technical levels showing individual initiative guided by own judgment in support of research projects and programs.
•Lead business development activities, develop new programs, and mentor less senior engineers.
•Meet with U.S. Government customers, understand customer technical problems, formulate creative solutions, contribute to selling of proposed solutions, and lead technical execution of resulting programs.
•Travel to other LGS Locations or Customer Sites as necessary
•Understand and adhere to all LGS Ethical and Compliance policies
•Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to LGS EH&S policies and procedures
•Perform other duties as required
•Obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level to perform the job
Required Skills: •8+ years of demonstrable experience related to fiber lasers and amplifiers (e.g. ultra-fast, high-average-power, and/or rare-earth-doped optical sources and amplifiers, including work on the effect of optical nonlinearities)
•Experience working in an inter-discipline team environment
•SME in field of Optical Research
•Good interpersonal skills
