| Job Description | Position Summary: Develop and pursue new business opportunities in the immunology arena leveraging new scientific capabilities; Support on-going Immunology Services and Contract activities, and Write technical proposals. Oversee and coordinate daily activities in the immunology group and supervise all associated laboratory staff. Manage project(s) in a manner that is consistent with SeraCare’s mission and management philosophy by ensuring that appropriate support for our Immunology Services, Contracts and Product Development activities are carried out in a timely manner according to our procedures and that new ideas that optimize quality and efficiency are fully explored. Promote a positive attitude, both externally and internally and represents the organization in a professional manner.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in Immunology or related field, with a minimum of 5-6 yrs experience beyond post-doctoral training (approximately 5 years total experience). Must have demonstrated expertise in approaches for monitoring cell mediated immunity including testing protocols such as ELISpot, Flow Cytometry, and antibody testing plus prior supervisory experience. Must be proficient in operating cell analyzers such as BD LSR Fortessa Flow Cytometer or equivalent. A solid understanding of current GMP and GLP standards is preferred. Must have experience writing technical proposals with strong award history with budgetary experience preferred. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and multi-tasking skills required. Must have the ability to organize and analyze data and prepare and make presentations at internal and external scientific meetings. In addition, must possess strong computer skills, preferably experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel and Project. Excellent use of judgment and discretion required. Extended work hours may be necessary in order to meet business demands.
