Responsibilities:
Purpose and Summary of position: (5-8 major activities):
Provides process engineering technical support to production units, environmental activities and plant projects to improve unit operations, process safety and environmental performance.
— Designs improvements to production capacity, efficiency, process safety and environmental performance including complex designs with impact up to 10 million dollars
— Provide process support to Plant Engineering activities, usually involving preparation of major Appropriation Requests or execution of detailed engineering of projects
— Provides mentoring/guidance to other process engineers in general engineering principles and design practices
— Participates in Process Safety Review and oversight for unit projects
— Communicates and documents process engineering activities in unit support, design, plant engineering, environmental and process safety support activities with little or no review required
— Provides process support to Environmental activities
Qualifications:
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: (Include 5 – 8 Major Activities)
Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in Process Engineering a chemical manufacturing facility
Ability to Multitask and Handle Multiple Simultaneous Assignments
Ability to Work as Self Directed Individual
Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
Ability to Work with Other Groups such as Construction and Operations
General Computer Skills such as Microsoft Office
Project management Skills
Required Education:
BS in Chemical Engineering
Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Experience in 6-sigma methodology
Experience in Celanese Standard Work processes
Knowledge of process design, instrumentation, process control and statistics |
