Job Description | The Process Engineer is responsible for the engineering and commissioning of paint and sealing process (paths, film builds, seams, etc.) using robotic automation. This is a front line, self-directed role with the customer that requires strong character and a professional manner to deal with highly stressful situations. The position requires extensive experience with paint application techniques and methods used in the automotive industry.
Create and/or commission paths for robotic paint and sealing applications.
Qualify process against project specifications. Adjust process parameters as necessary to meet specification.
Create and/or commission software for robot controller.
Communicate effectively with other project team members, including project manager and the engineering team staff.
Communicate effectively with customer as required.
Develop written information as required for operating manuals and other internal/external documentation.
Adherence to project schedule.
Travel to job sites as required. This is a road warrior position with high travel to domestic and international locations.
Work as part of a cross functional team.
Support Durr Business Operating System.
Assist the Service Department with software & hardware related problems. Perform emergency service calls as necessary.
Prepare and submit site status reports.
Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a minimum 5 years of experience in the field is required.
Experience with industrial control systems, specifically robotic painting and/or sealing processes.
Understanding of paint and sealing materials, processes and customer quality requirements.
Knowledge of safety standards including RIA/ANSI 15.06.
Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing.
Strong computer skills with three years of experience on Microsoft Office.
Good organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality as required.
Spanish and/or German language skills.
Ability to program PLC?s and commercial HMI packages.
Experience with industrial vision systems.
Experience with automated gluing processes.
