Job Description | The Electrical Process Controls Engineer is a hands-on position within the Process Control Group. The primary responsibility of the position is assisting a talented group of electronics technicians in the support and repair of off the shelf and customized process equipment in a state of the art specialty textile manufacturing facility. The function will require hands on work as well as mentoring of staff in electrical system design and troubleshooting motion controls such as PLC’s and motor drives. The position will also be responsible for identifying and directing the implementation of improvements to the manufacturing processes.
ACCEPTABLE EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Prefer a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering/Electronics from an accredited college or university
Prefer 3-7 years Electrical Engineering/Controls experience in a manufacturing environment
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The candidate selected for the position will perform electrical engineering controls work on process machinery in a manufacturing environment. They will also need to apply sound principles and techniques to the troubleshooting of process manufacturing equipment. The selected candidate will also plan and support the installation of process equipment modifications including the management of schedules, track equipment downtime and develop preventative/predictive programs to improve performance.
Not only will the selected candidate perform dad-to-day support of Process Controls Electronics Technicians in solving moderate to complex problems, they will also observe, mentor, and train the technicians to improve troubleshooting abilities. Root cause analysis of recurring problems and identifying permanent solutions to eliminate failures is a critical function of this position as well as focusing on continuous improvement of the manufacturing process. |
