The person in this position will become part of the R&D team with the task to build new biotechnology processes to support company’s technology. It is critical that this individual has excellent command of scientific fundamentals and is able to translate that into their laboratory work. The candidate must be comfortable using the skills and knowledge to problem-solve outside of their comfort-zone and learn on-the-fly if necessary.


Requirements:

Bachelor's with 5+ years of experience, master's with 3+ years of experience in Chemical
Engineering, Biological Engineering, or related discipline.

Excellent knowledge of biotechnology process fundamentals such as separations, fermentations, and formulations.

Track record of hands-on development of upstream and downstream processes dealing with small molecules, proteins, and nucleic acids.

Familiarity with bacterial, fungal, viral, and mammalian cells and expression systems.

Hands-on knowledge of instrumentation – HPLC, FPLC, PCR, diafiltration/ ultrafiltration, oligo synthesizers, pumps, liquid transfer devices, etc.

Capable of readily adapting existing/ published laboratory methods.

Knowledge of cGLP and cGMP practices is highly desirable.

Ability to function in a multi-disciplined team environment.

Ability to perform experiments autonomously or under supervision.

Excellent time management, data presentation skills, and communication skills.

Ability to solve difficult problems under time pressure.
