About the Role:

Hydro Aluminum North America, Inc. is actively recruiting a Process Engineer for our Phoenix Casthouse/Remelt facility to supply strong engineering support to its manufacturing processes.

Area of Responsibility
Responsibilities:

Provides strong HSE leadership at all levels. Ensures Hydro's HSE standards are well integrated into the manufacturing processes. Leads by example that safety is a way of life and demonstrates a passion for an injury-free workplace.

•Designs and implements effective manufacturing processes with a focus on lean transformation to achieve the production and quality goals of the plant

•Determines equipment needs to ensure sufficient capability exists to meet customer product, part and component requirements

•Works closely with quality, sales and productions department on sample runs, trials and special projects

•Tracks and reports performance metrics. Uses data analysis to identify issues and prioritize areas in need of corrective action. Trains plant personnel in proper techniques for root cause analysis

•Coordinates and guides problem solving teams, ensures corrective actions are implemented, monitors improvements

•Identifies and provides resolution to any training, equipment, or material issues affecting productivity and quality.

•Determines feasibility of projects by identifying and forecasting costs and requirements.

•Trains and develops skill level in supervisors, technicians and operators using proven tools such as standardized work.

•Participates and leads process hazard analysis reviews.

•Seeks out, implements and shares best practices within and across departments and within the Hydro network to improve productivity and quality

Qualifications
Requirements:

•BS/MS in Engineering

•Five or more years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment

•Strong communication skills. Must possess full communication capability in English. Spanish capability is desirable

•Strong project management skills

•Exceptional customer focus

•Experience in lean manufacturing, 5S, and quality interpretation
