Process Engineer: Contract Manufacturing

Job Description
SCOPE:
Responsible for programming and debugging the production of all New Product Introductions (NPI’s). Oversee all process documentation; create procedures and visual aides as they relate to all printed circuit assemblies. Develop standards for stencil apertures. Acquire stencils, fixtures, tools, equipment and supplies needed for assembly equipment, which may include the negotiation of service contracts and research to develop quotes to recommend and justify new equipment. Provide continuous improvement through efficiency improvements, tooling, internal and external defect analysis. Implement corrective action as required. Responsible for creating re-flow profiles from customer profile"" boards or by best guess"" and then analysis. Responsible for first build analysis to quality on all new assembly part numbers that are processed. Troubleshoot assembly processes and equipment as necessary and escalate to appropriate internal or external resources. Preventive maintenance and repair of all assembly equipment. Provide training to Operators to ensure proper utilization of equipment. Follow CTS policies and procedures to include, but not limited to ESD and Safety.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage all new-product development activity in the SMT/PCA area, ensuring that tooling is ordered in a timely manner (paste screens, loadnests, assembly tooling), and that all required visual aids and machine programming tasks are completed on schedule. Advise on additional Capital Equipment requirements.
Minimize production disruption by providing day-to-day machine trouble-shooting and minor adjustments. Ensure all production operators are adequately trained on manufacturing equipment. Identify efficiency improvements.
Set standards for throughput in each production step, write and maintain formal Manufacturing processes, based on machine capability and product complexity. Work with Production Planning to ensure realistic scheduling takes place

Working through SMT Technicians, ensure that all required equipment preventative maintenance activity takes place in accordance wit the recommended schedules. Ensure adequate service contracts are in place and liaise with equipment manufacturers

Work with Materials Group to ensure all components are procured n accordance with agreed machine presentations (feeder requirements). Other duties as necessary to ensure meeting facility goals and objectives.



Job Requirements


BS degree in Engineering or Physical Science Discipline, SMTA and Green Belt Certification strongly preferred. IPC-A-610 certified. J-STD-001 certified.

The ideal candidates must have process engineering experience in the contract manufacturing industry. Knowledge of industry recognized standards (IPC-A-61-, J-STD-001, etc.
