Description

Printpack is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Process Engineer I in the Orange, Texas films facility. This position will report to Plant Manager. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Science (minimum) or equivalent experience. In addition, a minimum of three years’ experience in the field of Quality Management or equivalent graduate degree in a related field with one to two years’ experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus. In addition, other skills include: leading cross-functional improvement teams, understanding of product specifications and processes with a focus on process analysis/control, variability/cost reduction, process optimization through experimental design, capital improvement analyses, and other database/computer skills for quantifying process controls. Working knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing principals is a plus.

Responsibilities include:
•Serve as the Local Improvement Champion for Power Tools initiatives, including leading cross-functional improvement teams.

•Lead process optimization work through use of statistical tools to improve key measures.

•Practical application of Statistical Process Control (SPC).

•Coordinate activities at the plant level in order to meet the quality expectations of the customers.

•Effective diagnostic and troubleshooting skills related to equipment performance against customer requirements.

•Providing support of plant operations with engineering and capital project management.

•Facilitate data-based analysis of process conditions in plants to be used as action plan for improvements to core processes.

•Analyze/review plant operations to submit quantifiable cost savings ideas while improving cost performance against budget.

•Participate in plant safety program.

•Assisting with the development of standard operating conditions for production equipment.

•Developing and maintaining best practices library for processes while ensuring plant compliance.
