Process Engineer II

Job Description
As Process Engineer you will be responsible for assuring that the manufacturing processes are optimized, the technology is current, the personnel training current, the waste claims minimized and the productivity maximized while compling with all company policies and procedures.





Job Requirements:
• BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Science or Chemical Engineering preferred)
• 3+ years of process/manufacturing experience, preference will be given to those with experience in the Flexible Packaging industry with knowledge in all aspects of converting raw materials into usable web products - rotogravure printing and adhesive/extrusion laminating
• Must be able to indentify continuous improvement opportunities and drive implementation (quality, output, efficiency, utilization, scrap reduction)
• Previous experience with converting and/or extrusion process
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Able to be a hands-on and assist Production with problem resolution
• Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS-Project, AutoCAD)
• Must be able to flex work schedule to occasionally cover off-shifts & weekends (approx. 12-15 times per year)
• Must have strong statistical skills and be competent in use of statistics & statistically designed experiments (SDE’s)
• Six Sigma/Lean Skills a plus
• Previous experience working in a regulated environment (ISO, GMP) preferred
• Previous experience working with integrating electrical and mechanical systems a plus
• Strong self-starter who exhibits potential for being promoted to positions of increasing responsibility





Job Responsibilities:
• Manage process improvements in support of site safety, waste, quality, and productivity performance
• Conduct process and product data analyses to routinely monitor process capability and product acceptance criteria (SPC and SQC)
• Support manufacturing personnel in identifying root cause and developing corrective/preventative actions associated with both customer and internal complaints
• Direct responsibility for cost reduction and/or increasing product value for Amcor’s customers
• Participate in/lead Six Sigma cross funtional teams and/or complete Black Belt projects as identified or assigned
• Leads efforts to assure compliance with appropriate Regulations and Standards impacting packaging projects
• Develop new or revise testing methods, procedures, documentation and techniques to assure customer requirements are being met and labor efficiency and productivity are achieved
• Evaluate current equipment processes and procedures to ensure optimal performance
• Travel to customer and supplier sites (< 12 trips/year)
