Summary


This person receives general direction from the Production Manager, and coordinates all engineering and maintenance projects related to production equipment. Guides the preventative maintenance and spare-part programs in order to decrease machine downtime. Repair SMT production lines (custom pick and placmeent machines, screen printer, glue machine, conveyors, oven and AOI (Automated Optical Inspection)

Responsibilities


Directs the receipt of all spare-parts for maintaining production equipment and maintains the spare-part inventory. May source Japanese spare parts from domestic sources. Assists maintenance technicians with the troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance of all manufacturing equipment. Generate logical steps to completion.

Develop preventative and regular maintenance schedules for all equipment. Issues maintenance forms to technicians for completions. Maintains downtime logging system.

Provides management with weekly and monthly downtime and maintenance reports.

Prepares mechanical drawings of parts for equipment and floor plans. Works closely with outside vendors on sourcing and ordering new equipment from the U.S. and/or Japan.

Monitors environmental controls in production areas (i.e. ESD, clean room, etc.). Maintains waste disposal and testing requirements.

Utilizes various hand tools, calipers, micrometers, surface grinders, saws and milling machines. Requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and spend long periods of time standing.

Assists with writing procedures for production processes. Train employees on new procedures.

Requirements

Prefer 3-5 years years of previous automated maintenance experience with exposure to SMT engineering functions. Associates degree and/or technical school training desired.

Previous experience with computerized preventative maintenance programs preferred (i.e. Side-Arm).

Must have knowledge of PLC's (programmable logic control)

Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office, Word and Excel).

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Strong technical skills as related to electrical and mechanical manufacturing equipment.

Ability to develop and maintain a positive working relationship with others.

Ability to learn, understand and adhere to all applicable safety precautions and procedures.
