Job Description

CST Storage is seeking to expand its current Quality team to support process improvement initiatives in accordance with the continual enhancement of their Quality Management System.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Works closely with the process control team and manufacturing operations to support timely problem resolution for all manufacturing and customer related issues where causes are traced to failures in manufacturing processes. Provide technical expertise and assistance to quality inspectors and operations for ensuring that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system. Working with the quality and manufacturing teams, develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection and process evaluations. Design and prepare regular performance reports for Operations team (Pareto, first pass yield, COPQ, etc.). Analyze data and lead corrective action teams in solving critical and systemic quality related issues. Responsible to lead or participate in continual improvement activities for the enhancement of the quality system: examples include LEAN methodologies such as 5S, standardized work, TPM, Poka-Yoke, etc. Perform process audits, document results, including nonconformances, making timely recommendations for improvement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency in process control tools (Process Capability, PFMEA, Gage R&R, etc.). Working knowledge in systematized approaches toward corrective action (8D, 5 Why's, etc.). Experienced in ISO9001 quality management system requirements. Proficiency in blueprint interpretation: GD&T preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to effectively communicate with all CST Storage functional areas (i.e., management team, shop floor employees, mfg engineers, quality team, etc.) to identify and resolve quality related issues. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks, adhering to strict deadlines and commitments. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point. Skilled in Microsoft Access a plus. Ability to work effectively with internal staff, building relationships that assist in getting CST Storage quality requirements met. Ability to make solid decisions and recommendations in a rapid paced, forward evolving environment.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency in Minitab Knowledge of LEAN / Six Sigma manufacturing methodologies Experience in PLC programming and / or robotic systems integration a plus.

Education and Experiences:
Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or other related degree. Three to five years of progressive experience working in a comparable manufacturing / quality capacity LEAN, Six Sigma or Black Belt certifications preferred ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, etc.) a plus.
