Elkay Manufacturing Company is looking for a Process Engineer at our Savanna, IL location.
Core member of the Process Engineering team, responsible for the implementation of plant initiatives associated with continuous improvement in the areas of lean, cost reduction, and new product development and introduction. Leads projects, and is a major driving force, contributing to the successful completion of projects targeted to improve plant performance of the key operational metrics, through the use of proven Lean best practices, project management and application of Six Sigma tools.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Key contributor to the Process and Product Engineering, and Project Management functions with significant latitude for independent decision making in the implementation of cost savings initiatives using cross-functional teams, project management practices, and Lean and Six Sigma analysis tools.
Uses existing and new methods for monitoring project progress, assesses project issues, and develops or facilitates resolutions necessary to meet project objectives including project schedules, product and project costs, and design objectives.
Leads and facilitates major continuous improvement projects to improve facility performance to key operating metrics. Develop plans to ensure timely and effective completion of projects within overall plan and budget.
Understands and articulates the contribution of the team and department performance to Elkay objectives, and drives those interactions within the business.
Makes technical and/or business decisions based on an understanding of risk which might impact operations or the results of a major project or business unit.
Application of appropriate development tools to include DFMEA, DOE, PDCA, scheduling, innovation, and brainstorming.
Coordinate and implement product changes into production for all relevant phases.
Complete understanding of Project Management principles, including: project formulation, development, implementation, and ramp up.
Required Skills
B.S. in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or other technical degree required
3 – 5 years Process Engineering experience in Manufacturing environment preferred, but entry level high performing candidate would be considered.
Understanding of Lean principles and concepts
Six Sigma ASQ certification preferred
