Job Description

The Process Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing commercial scale projects for the conversion of biomass feedstock to biofuels. The role will encompass integration of new technology into new or existing facilities and will involve taking a project from the early stages of development through successful plant start-up. The process engineer will report to the site project manager and will require a high degree of coordination with the Process Development, Engineering, and Research and Development Teams.

Candidate Requirements

Experience and Education (minimums)

Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a process or project engineer within the biofuels, petroleum, coal, biotechnology, clean energy, petrochemicals, or gas processing industries.
Project management experience with a proven track record for meeting schedule and budget milestones on $5+ MM projects.
Previous industrial experience with biological systems or gasification systems.
Advanced degree and project management certification preferred.
Skills

Effective written and oral communication skills.
Team player with the ability to thrive in a collaborative and fast paced work environment.
Extensive knowledge of chemical processes, mechanical equipment, and unit operations.
Working knowledge of instrumentation, process controls, and plant distributed control systems.
Familiarity with project management methodology.
Established Environmental, Health, and Safety compliance.
Essential Functions

Collaborate with internal engineering and process development teams to establish project scope and design.
Interface with consultants, partners, and vendors.
Manage outside contractors.
Basic project management duties including tracking project schedule and budget along with leading construction meetings.
Commission and troubleshoot equipment.
This position is open to candidates authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.
