Process Engineer

Job Description
SUMMARY:

The Process Engineer works to define, design, and maintain consistently formatted processes that are used in the shop. He/She will serve as a source of manufacturing knowledge and manufacturing decisions for the shop floor. The Process Engineer will supply the machinists with all pertinent information that is required to complete his/her needed task.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create manufacturing processes for new products and in support of quoting activities
Maintain existing processes - revision changes, cost improvements, and trouble-shooting
Communicate process requirements with internal and external customers
Look for possible process improvements and consult with a senior Manufacturing Engineer to discuss advantages
Look for safety hazards and help prevent accidents
Explores and tests new manufacturing concepts
Conform to all ISO, FDA, SOP and OSHA requirements
Assists in training operators
Assists in validation and capability study activities
Creates and maintains CNC instructions for multi-axis mills, lathes, and EDM machines
Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS INCLUDING EQUIPMENT AND MACHINE COMPETENCIES:

Associates Degree in Engineering or two years minimum varied manufacturing experience


PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:



Very frequent – 20 + hours per week: Production floor, Office environment, Walking, Hand dexterity – keyboarding, Talking, Standing,

Frequent – 8 to 20 hours per week: Overtime

Occasionally – 5 hours per week:

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: YES
