Description
The Process Engineer – Injection Molding will provide guidance, training and execution of scientific molding priciples to the Healthcare Packaging manufacturing facilities and process engineering group. Responsible for process engineering associated with existing operations and capital expenditure associated with introduction of new equipment or replacement/modification of existing equipment and related technical solutions. Evaluate and direct activities of external vendors associated with the development of new or modified design to insure delivery of services and equipment within technical specifications, cost and delivery requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

Skilled in the operation of Injection Molding equipment. Establish and sustain molding processes and cycle time reductions on high cavitation / high volume single face and stack molds.

Directs and trains the Process Technicians.

Problem solving and implementing corrective action procedures on complex Engineering and Manufacturing issues.

Sample and test new molds and machines. Establish processes using de-coupled, scientific molding techniques.

Coordinates all process capability studies and D.O.E. sampling. Establishes process control limits.

Process Optimization through Scientific Molding.

Skilled in CIM and SPC concepts.

Maintain Job Management Files.

Works closely with Corporate Engineering.

May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.


Requirements

Knowledge and Skills:

5-7 years of expertise in Injection Molding systems and techniques.

Engineering skill level of process and tooling.

Bachelor's Degree in Plastics Technology; Engineering or similar is preferred.

Possesses well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a high paced and multi-task environment.

Demonstrates organizational skills and is very detail oriented.

Ability to read, write and follow written or verbal instructions.

Ability to speak, read and write English.

Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Ability to write complex technical documents.

Computer experience is required.

Excellent oral/written communication and organizational skills.

Self motivated to work virtually and independently with customers, manufacturing plants and corporate groups while possessing data driven problem solving skills using proven and recognizable techniques.

Mechanical aptitude and quality system working knowledge required.

Capper/closure design background relating to line application is desired.

Experience in plastics, closure or bottle industry is desired.
