Saft is currently seeking a Process Engineer for our facility in Cockeysville, MD
Seeking a process engineer with at least 5 years of experience to fabricate novel Li-ion electrodes. Will act at the interface between R&D scientists and production – working hands-on to ensure high quality experimental electrodes. Will assist in the scale-up of products from pilot scale to automated, high volume production
Work with scientists to formulate, mix, and coat experimental electrode formulations utilizing comma bar, slot die, or other coating techniques. Trouble shoot issues and use sound experimental designs to improve designs, mixes, and coatings.
Work closely and directly with scientists, lab technicians, process engineering, and quality teams to ensure consistent and timely delivery while meeting customer requirements
Must be interested in and have experience with new product development, including scale-up and specification writing. Experience with and focus on continual process improvement and safety. Extremely driven to produce high quality, consistent products
Fundamental understanding of rheology, mixture science, dispersion, and preferably electrochemical products.
Qualifications
B.S. Degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering preferred
Minimum of 3 years of process engineering experience in large volume battery or wet thin film coatings environment
Experience scaling new products from R&D to large volume production
Minimum of 3 years of experience with Statistical Process Control, Quality Tools and Lean Six Sigma
Ability and willingness to travel 10-20% of the time |
