Job Responsibilities: CertainTeed Corporation is recruiting an experienced Process Engineer for the Jackson, Michigan siding manufacturing facility. This position is a key member of the organizations manufacturing team in coordinating process improvements. Strong candidate must possess the skills and abilities to lead cross-functional work teams and provided a history of successful team based projects. Experience in Lean work environment is preferred.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate improvements in developing and continually improving processes in a Lean work environment.
Provide process engineering support to manufacturing by developing, defining and documenting new and existing processes.
Coordinating best practices across the organization.
Train team members on production processes i.e., maintenance, process technician and production.
Explore new processes and equipment to ensure CertainTeed is utilizing the most effective technology available to meet and exceed manufacturing goals.
Use proven Lean tools to minimize process variation and improve productivity.
Specific focus areas include panel thickness controls, improving material efficiency, reducing material costs, reducing process variation, increasing OEE throughput rates, improving profitability and enabling the Siding Products Group to aggressively compete in the business segment.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Knowledge and experience in program logic controllers (PLC).
Install and improve use of automation, controls and programming.
Experience in automating equipment, closed loop systems and robotics programming.
Understanding of electronic, circuit board level troubleshooting skills.
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent Experience and Training.
Experience 5 10 years preferred.
