Process Engineer

Job Description
Responsibilities

The Process Engineer, under limited supervision, manages and coordinates the process of the operational and systems infrastructure of the carbon fiber manufacturing process. The position will be responsible for leading the design, installation and improvement of Zoltek’s production process systems requiring the integration of people, equipment and materials. The Process Engineer will strive to improve quality processes and costs to meet or exceed customer requirements. Additional responsibilities include conducting research on and development of solutions to process problems. Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. Candidates should have a minimum of five years experience in process engineering in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or Theory of Constraints is desired. Experience utilizing or implementing Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or TOC is a preferred. Training in Statistical Process Control is desired.

The Process Engineer will have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals. Effective presentation skills and problem solving skills are also required. The Process Engineer will also comprehend and apply engineering principles and statistical theory to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of CAD, MS Office, and project scheduling systems. The selected candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional organizational and leadership skills are also required. The successful candidate will be a hands-on individual capable of planning his or her own work schedule and priorities. Additionally, the Process Engineer is expected to be capable of setting and meeting objectives required for the continuous functioning of a carbon fiber manufacturing production process. The Process Engineer is expected to become an important member of the Zoltek management team and as such will become an integral part of supporting Zoltek’s goals and business objectives.
