•Extracts process engineering information from CAD drawings. Prepares process flow diagrams, material and heat balances, and lists of major equipment. Designs P&IDs, prepares and issues instrument, equipment, heat exchange and rotating equipment data sheets. Prepares and issues line summaries. Establish utility requirements, prepares utility summaries and designs utility P&IDs. Conducts process and equipment optimization and process evaluation studies.

•Conducts emission and pollution control studies. Conducts safety and hazard assessments for process systems. Checks calculations performed by other engineers and according to the project instructions. Selects computer software, enters required data and prepares complex computer calculations. Verifies computer simulation results.

•Retain and keeps files for future reference. Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses. Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents. Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and material.

•Provides assistance to other engineering disciplines as required in the preparation of equipment and instrumentation specifications, plot plans, and general arrangement drawings. Assists in the preparation of operating and training manuals.

•Directs the activities, provides input and technical guidance to CAD designers and drafters and to lower level process engineers. Seals and signs documents as the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.

•Participates in customer and internal review meetings.
Development of standard process engineering deliverables: design basis, PFD, material & energy balance, P&IDs, design lists, pressure relief device sizing, equipment and line sizing, and equipment specification. Define project approaches within proposals and technical memorandums. Define and execute process studies and options analysis. Manage small task- order projects ($10K - $200K), including interface with leads in other engineer & design disciplines.

Job Requirements Minimum of 5 years experience, preference for candidate with lead process engineer experience on large project. Must excel at written and verbal communication in English and be comfortable and experienced with client communications. Candidate will work on multiple projects simultaneously in an environment focused on growing and maintaining numerous client relationships. Depending on professional background and experience, starting position will be in Billings, MT with eventual ability to move to Bismarck, ND, Vancouver, WA, Long Beach CA, or Martinez, CA. Location preference should be included in cover letter.

Must provide a cover letter including basis for desiring work in a small office with focus on small capital or expense projects and asset services. Candidate should describe ability to define a project approach for front end engineering and an indication of willingness/interest in general process engineering & design across multiple industrial sectors. Letter should include any experience and willingnessfor proposal writing and scoping of new projects.ý
