Process Engineer-Optical Molding

Job Description
The Process Engineer – Optical Molding is responsible for providing technical direction and support for the injection molding of high precision polymer optics. A key member of the technical leadership team, the Engineer will: - establish work instructions - manage all Systematic Master processes documentation for the Injection Molding Dept. - understand the proper handling of optical components and precision parts, and the stringent requirements and consistency from production lot-to-lot in a clean environment, adhering to the 5 principles. This position will take a key role in achieving optimal levels of safety, quality, productivity and delivery of product, while assuring internal and external customer satisfaction on both new and existing products.




The candidate must have a complete understanding of: - Machine process control - Mold Design - Molding Technology - Optical resins - E-Dart system
Candidate must be: - experienced in metrology, including the use of calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc., and Interferometer, Proflilometer. - knowledgeable in computer-aided design tools: auto-cad, mold flow analysis, Solidworks, as well as have sound computer skills in an ERP system and Microsoft Office including Word and Excel, etc. - experienced in using and applying appropriate metrology to confirm design specifications are achieved - able to interpret technical drawings. - familiar with ISO 9000 - knowledgeable of DOE protocol supporting R & D initiatives
