| Job Description | Position Summary: To provide technical assistance to production personnel in solving process problems, to initiate, plan, coordinate and provide comprehensive follow up for major projects designed to improve processes. To identify existing or potential problems and make recommendations accordingly and to facilitate the implementation and use of formal process control systems. To develop, design and implement projects to improve plant performance.
Key Accountabilities/Primary Responsibilities: Provide technical assistance to production personnel in solving process problems, to initiate, plan, coordinate and provide comprehensive follow up for major projects designed to improve processes. Develop experimental plans to improve process capability, cost reduction and non conformity reduction. Use systematic problem solving process to make improvements. Support new product development and design. Identify existing or potential problems and make recommendations accordingly and to facilitate the implementation and use of formal process control systems. Develop, design and implement projects to improve plant performance. Advocate for safety. All other tasks and projects assigned by manager.
Key Skills and Competencies Required: Safety advocate. Strong troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of ISO, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and 5 S. Strong interpersonal skills. Good writing and speaking skills. PC literate with Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of glass melting, forming and finishing operations. Statistical process control experience or knowledge. Ability to initiate, lead and participate in projects.
Education and Experience Required: BS in an engineering discipline, preferably ceramic or chemical. |
