POSITION SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions Statement(s)
? Oversee the efficiency of current manufacturing process as well as develop new processes to improve the manufacturing process and decrease costs.
? Work with production Supervisors, Group Leaders, Operators and other support groups in the process of improving production processes.
? Work with marketing and product development teams to formulate new manufacturing
processes.
? Drive continuous improvement by developing and implementing systems that optimize all phases of the production process.
? Perform laboratory testing of raw and in-process materials to validate that current
manufacturing process are well supported by metallurgical and fundamental scientific
methods.
? Use of statistical analysis, Pareto, 8D, DOE's and other root cause analytical tools to solve fundamental quality and process problems.
? Writing of technical reports for both internal and external customers.
? Updating and maintaining all Process Engineering specification databases.
? Preparation of PPAP's for new product and customer qualifications.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor's Degree (four year college or university)
Experience: Three to seven years related experience in non ferrous metal processing specifically; melting, extrusion, wire drawing & forming, annealing and strip rolling
Computer Skills:
? Proficient in the use of MicroSoft Excel, Word and Powerpoing
? Statistical process software MiniTab preferred
Other Requirements:
? Background in non ferrous metallurgical science preferred
? Background in statistical analysis preferred; Exposure to LEAN and SIX SIGMA principles preferred |
