Process Engineering Manager

Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Process Engineering Manager to manage Process Engineering across (3) Curtiss-Wright Surface Technology (CWST) business sites located in CT, MA and SC. CWST is a business segment of Curtiss-Wright, Metal Improvement Company. CWST provides thermal spray coatings for variety of industries including Power Generation, Aerospace and Chemical Processing.





Reporting directly to the CWST Regional Manager, the Process Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the engineering projects of new and existing programs for Curtiss-Wright Surface Technologies.





Requirements:


Direct the Engineering staffs across the (3) CWST sites through all stages of project qualification and production.

Provide technical leadership support to internal and external customers, assist in troubleshooting process problems for manufacturing, and aggressively drive process improvements.

Interact with the Operations and Sales departments, and will participate in all facets of planning, developing, and documentation of technical projects.

Demonstrate an understanding of the strategic business needs and direct engineering projects / teams to meet business goals/objectives.

Act as the primary engineering leadership of CWST for customers for areas of responsibility

Manage team performance, project commitments / deadlines, DOEs and report writing.

Travel between site locations and with Sales on technical visits.





Qualifications


· Bachelors Degree in Material Science, Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering. Master’s degree in related field preferred.


· Minimum 10+ years engineering experience in a Management / leadership role.


· Minimum 7+ years of thermal spray experience.


· Strong metallurgical knowledge.


· Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.


· Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a thorough knowledge of principles, concepts theories, and practices of applicable discipline.


· Thorough understanding of products/systems with good understanding of customer requirements and market conditions.


· Strong leadership, managerial skills and ability to effectively influence and motivate others and engage others to drive common goals.


· Well organized.


· Must be able to successfully lead and provide clear direction to multiple sites Engineering and project execution teams.


· Goal/results oriented with solid project management skills with proven ability to meet tight project deadlines.


· Good written and verbal communication and presentation skills.


· Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project applications.
