Process Sustaining Engineer, Epitaxial Growth
Job Description
We currently have the need for a Process Engineer to support our Epitaxial growth team, located at our headquarter facility in Durham, NC. In this role you would be part of a team that is responsible for the MOCVD epitaxial growth for III-Nitride based LED products. Shift: 1st Shift + 1 Weekend Day (Tues- Sat or Sun-Thurs) OR 2nd Shift + 1 Weekend Day (2PM-11PM Tues-Sat or Sun-Thurs)
Summary:
We are seeking a resourceful, hands-on, problem solving Process Sustaining Engineer with the capacity to quickly grasp and resolve a wide range of technical challenges. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast paced, deadline-oriented atmosphere and be capable and willing to work in a team of scientists, engineers and technicians.
Responsibilities:
The Process Engineer will support a team of scientists and engineers through the ownership of MOCVD reactors and their associated LED manufacturing processes. Other responsibilities include:
24x7 MOCVD reactor & process ownership
Set-up, scheduling, and evaluation of LED production runs
Data driven process decision making based on timely and thorough data analysis
Process improvement through designed experimentation
Yield improvement through identification and elimination of yield limiters
Mentoring, coaching, and training of process technicians
Minimum Requirements:
BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering
Willingness to work on second shift (2PM-12AM) and weekend rotations
Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder
Must have a Whatever it takes attitude
Preferred Qualifications:
MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering
Undergrad GPA of 3.3 or better, or graduate GPA of 3.5 or better
Thin film deposition or MOCVD experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of SPC and experimental design
